The Amsterdam study trip (6–8 May 2026) is a key moment within the Honours Programme “City Science for Transformative Urban Futures”, promoted by CRAFT – DAStU Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with institutional partners and European networks. The programme offers students an immersive experience in one of the most advanced City Science Initiative contexts, focusing on the relationship between knowledge production, data, and urban policy.

On 6 May, hosted by the City of Amsterdam, the programme opens with institutional presentations addressing the interface between research and public decision-making, followed by a session on the Zuidas development and a field visit. On 7 May, the students will be at AMS Institute. Seminar sessions will focus on the Institute interdisciplinary approaches, combined with student work sessions and site visits to experimental urban environments.

The programme concludes on 8 May with a collective forum bringing together experts, faculty, and students for a critical discussion of the Amsterdam case and broader City Science challenges. Through presentations, seminars, and reflection, the study trip strengthens students’ ability to translate empirical insights into strategies for urban transformation.
